DMP-Check – Data management and protection in occupational and environmental exposome research a case study from the EU-funded EXIMIOUS project
In collaborative projects like the EU-funded Horizon 2020 EXIMIOUS project, managing large volumes of data poses ethical and legal challenges. Researchers often lack the tools and understanding to address these independently.
This led to developing a Data Management Plan and platforms compliant with EU and national regulations. We ensured our research data is FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) while maintaining privacy and security (GDPR compliant).
We share our experience to help others build their data management frameworks and provide a checklist, “DMP CHECK,” with recommendations based on our experience.
